<<< Inspiration is the process of being mentally stimulated to do or feel something, esp. to do something creative. >>>>
Because I'm in the creative industry, I need to feel inspired ALL.THE.TIME. But let's be real, anyone on this planet will tell you that it's simply not possible. Now, keeping that in mind, there has to be another option, right? RIGHT! Here is what I suggest and my personal solution to this never ending dilemma. When you want to be inspired, you have to do something that speaks to your soul, your core, your heart, your inner most being. For me, that is writing/journaling. I have been a pretty consistent journal keeper since I was about 8 years old.. and these days I'm still loving it. Maybe it's that I get to go and pick out a new and beautiful journal each time I run out of pages.. or maybe it's the hope that one day somebody will read them and it will help them in their lives. It's the thrill of keeping these records of my life, the nostalgia I feel about it all. It's the buying of a brand new set of the perfect pen to write it all down with. It's the beauty of seeing something hand written. Whatever the reason, it's something I really enjoy doing. It allows me to rid myself of the negative things and then move on to happy things that eventually get me to that inspired feeling I adore and need to survive! PHOTO TIME >>>>>>>>>>

When I was younger, my journal was mostly about how I felt. In my first ever post, I wrote about how my grandparents took me shopping and I bought that purple velvet journal. I still remember that instance well. It was from Claire's in the mall and I was so excited to go home and start writing in it. My current journal is a little less ornate and the price tag was much bigger. It's refillable and leather (don't ya know?!) and I was so excited because I could see myself placing the little white journals with their to dates on the spine in a neat little line (think encyclopedia meets vogue issues) upon my most prized shelf and adoring them forever. Maybe it'll happen?
So, what is something that makes you feel inspired? Do you have a lot of ways or mainly one? If not, have you tried journaling? I DEFINITELY RECOMMEND IT. It will give you plenty of trips down memory lane and help you to feel inspired daily. :) Now of course the action of writing/journaling isn't the only way to feel inspired and that's why this is not the only method I am going to reveal, but it is the first and is in my top 5 (which are posts in the works) ways to find inspiration. Go get inspired and come back tomorrow ((or today in the PM)) for another FINDING INSPIRATION POST! xo,Brooke
You should totally do that "little white journal with their dates on the spine in a neat little line" thing. That would make me feel better about throwing away all my issues of Vogue that one time..*cringe*
